The City of Adelaide’s Community Grants Program supports community-led projects that are open to the public, free and low-cost for participants, and delivered within the city and North Adelaide. The program aims to create a vibrant, connected, and inclusive city. We fund ideas that encourage local collaborations to help build a welcoming and resilient community where everyone feels they belong.
The Community Grants program comprises two focus areas and this application form is for Arts and Culture Quick Response funding requests ONLY. Apply for Community Wellbeing projects here.
Before you start, please familiarise yourself with the Community Grants Information Booklet 2026/27.
This is a short turnaround grant with applications required to be submitted at least 5 weeks prior to the commencement of the project.
Arts and Culture Grants support arts and cultural projects that provide value to the city community and are open to all to attend. Examples of projects supported include:
- Creative performances
- Art exhibitions
- Arts and cultural festivals and events
- Reconciliation and truth-telling
- Live music
- Public artwork
If your project's primary purpose is about connecting local residents, community sports or support for priority groups, then it sounds like the Community Impact focus area might be a better fit for your project. (for example, volunteer training, neighbourhood activities, community cooking, sports, or gatherings), please click here to complete a Community Wellbeing Grant application.
Priority Groups Definition
This application refers to priority groups. Priority groups include population groups which require greater support with social determinants of health. In Australia, priority groups include:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Children and families
- Culturally and linguistically diverse people
- International students.
- Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer/questioning/asexual (LGBTIQA)
- Older people – 50 years and over
- People experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage
- People who are refugees and asylum seekers
- People with disabilities
- Women
- Young people – 12 to 25 years
We recognise that genuine partnership and community engagement with priority groups takes time, care and appropriate investment. We are looking for well-scoped, achievable projects rather than ambitious outputs that exceed available resources.
